Marketing Team Experience
Aishu's Story
"My name is Aishu Ramaswami and I am an office and medical assistant as well as a patient coordinator for Taylor Vein Solutions (TVS). After graduating high school in the midst of a pandemic, I was given an opportunity to begin working as a medical assistant at TVS. As a student aspiring to go to medical school one day, this opportunity was pivotal for me to learn more about medicine. I started working full time at TVS in the summer of 2020, learning the responsibilities of a medical assistant and exploring what it really means to work in healthcare. I continued to work part time at TVS while attending school at the University of Michigan in the fall and winter semesters. I later joined the TVS marketing team in January 2021.
Working at TVS has showed me the inside mechanics of medical businesses and what it is like to work in healthcare. From learning how to schedule an appointment over the phone to assisting with procedures, my experience at TVS has been nothing but educational and exciting. Our goal at TVS is to provide as many patients as possible with a path to recovery, and I feel honored to be part of a team that has touched so many lives.
At TVS, I have learned the importance of asking for help when I do not know how to do something, as well as the importance of taking pride and honor in the work I do. Working in a medical office, there is not much room for error when I am responsible for providing quality medical care to patients. In the office, I am always held accountable for my actions, and I have learned to take the time to ensure that the work I complete is always thorough and to the highest of standards. I feel proud to know that the work I do can have a positive impact on the lives of our patients, and that always motivates me to work harder each day.
Outside of medical care, I also developed numerous skills that will serve me in any future endeavors. For example, I have built and developed my public relations skills through talking to patients, insurance representatives, physician offices’ front staff, and many more. Whether it be helping answer questions or requesting authorization for procedures, being able to interact with a variety of people has been a great opportunity for me to develop my public relations and speaking skills over the phone and in-person. Working at TVS has also given me the opportunity to explore ways in which we can improve the day-to-day operations of the office. The team environment is always incredibly supportive and is eager to adopt new ideas that can improve our daily functioning, no matter how small the task.
Since joining the marketing team, I am blown away by how much our team has accomplished for TVS. I have personally seen the results of our marketing initiatives play out in the office, and I feel proud to be a part of that difference. Meeting the patients who found us online and seeing them feel rejuvenated after receiving treatment makes all our efforts worthwhile. This has been an opportunity for me to see how impactful our marketing is for TVS and has given me invaluable experience. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to work in a team environment that is creative, focused, and truly dedicated to the success of TVS. Working with them always motivates me to work harder. We have already achieved so much, and I am excited to see what the future holds for us as we continue to reach new heights."
