Marketing Team Experience
Michelle's Story
"My name is Michelle Enderi and from October of 2021 to January of 2023, I was an intern for the TVS Marketing Team, an experience that I will forever remember and be grateful for. It began with a search for an internship at the start of my fourth year at Saginaw Valley State University. I wanted to find one that would not only teach me new skills that my classes could not, but that would also allow me to grow and expand on my own skills and ideas. Finding TVS provided an opportunity to do so while helping people find treatment for their venous reflux. It felt good knowing that my work would eventually make a difference in those people’s lives, who might be struggling to walk or enjoy everyday activities because of their venous reflux.
It felt even better once I met the TVS team. Everyone (the doctor, the staff and the marketing members) made sure to make me feel right at home and treated me with respect, as an equal, right away. I truly felt like I belonged even though I had barely worked with them. This made me more than excited to have been accepted into their team and to see what our work together would bring. Not only for me, but also for the clinic and the patients.
And right to be excited I was. Throughout my whole internship, I felt able to express any ideas, no matter how unrealistic they seemed. Rather than be completely shut down, the team would focus on ways to change that idea into something that was a little more doable. Once that idea was well developed, it was refreshing to see both the team and staff were always enthusiastic about helping in any way they could. I never felt discouraged working with TVS.
Apart from the amazing people, I was also able to better my existing skills as well as learn new ones. Being a graphic design minor, I had plenty of design experience prior to TVS. However, having this internship gave me a way to really showcase those skills and modify them to fit whatever the office needed. Whether that was for social media, ads, business cards, posters, postcards, brochures, etc. Later on, working on public relations taught me how to plan and execute events as well as how to better connect with patients or anyone interested in TVS.
Working with Taylor Vein Solutions opened doors for me that I didn’t think could be opened with an internship. I not only gained experience and skills in my field, but also what working in a professional, respectful place is like. I met many great people and made many great memories. For that and everything else, I am forever grateful."
